В каждом поколении славной семьи Джостаров находится прямой или побочный отпрыск, чье имя начинается с того же слога и, соответственно, потомок получает традиционное прозвище ДжоДжо.
Начиная с бурного XIX века, удел каждого героя с таким прозвищем – борьба за выживание человечества против вампиров, зомби и прочих Джеков Потрошителей. А началось все с того, что викторианский джентльмен Джордж Джостар по доброте душевной перепутал грабителя со спасителем, а потом еще принял в семью сына этого достойного рыцаря большой дороги. Что ж, теперь его потомки избавлены от скуки минимум на сто лет!

Джонатан, сын Джорджа, честный и бесхитростный парень, стал обладателем страшной тайны. Теперь он должен разоблачить козни названного брата, спасти семейную честь и защитить давно потерянную и вновь обретенную любовь.
В благородном деле все средства хороши – и восточные боевые искусства, и северная воинская магия, и вполне западные бандитские понятия. Вот только с южноамериканскими масками надо быть осторожнее!
